Short Breaks in Quieter times

Splendid in the summer months, the West Country has its own special charm out of season too. The scenery is majestic in ever-changing colours during Autumn, Winter and Spring. Outstanding countryside and the East Devon Heritage Coastal Walk along the cliffs is stunning, especially when stopping at the village hostelries for a leisurely lunch near the log fire.

The weather is particularly mild, since East Devon is a sheltered area, with crisp fresh mornings and warmer daytime temperatures than most other parts of the country. Many of the cottages have log fires and nearly all have central heating. Life is sweet, the pace is slow, everyone deserves a break and what better place to visit? Appreciate a seaside town out of season and live with the locals, get to know the characters and find out what it’s really like to live life in the slow lane! Take in the exhilarating fresh sea air, peace and tranquillity, which go to aid a good nights sleep.

Some of the cottages are available for longer breaks so why not stay for a few months and really get to know the area. The rates are much reduced, please telephone for prices. Sidmouth and the surrounding villages thrive on the theatre and local events, clubs and societies, come along and join in. Our shorter breaks of three days are 70% and four days are 80% of the brochure price. Please ring for availability and our recommendations - we will be happy to quote prices.

These are available from the end of September up to the final May bank holiday, or at the owners’ discretion for a last minute booking at other times of the year.
