"A wonderful oasis in Sidmouth, close to the sea front"
We spent a wonderful 4 days in Sidmouth at York Cottage, with my elderly parents and twin boys.
The cottage is as attractive in real life as it appears in the photos on the website. Inside it was cosy, warm, clean and had a welcoming homely feel. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the cottage was more spacious than we expected and very child friendly. Parents travelling with young children like us will be pleased that the owners have thought of everything (child cutlery / crockery, blackout curtains, a stair gate, a travel cot, a high chair, bed guard etc.)!
Location-wise, this spot is ideal. If you walk a few mins in either direction, you will find the beach, a wide variety of restaurants, a park and children's playground, a swimming pool and a high street with a variety of shops to choose from incl. a Co-Op and Tesco express and a Boots. We drove down, but did not use the car all week as everything was close by.

Thanks you very much for letting us stay in your charming cottage! Two intensive weeks in school have gone too fast. The weather has been wonderful. Hopefully we'll be back next year with the rest of the family - mother and son from Sweden.

We've had a fantastic week. This cottage has been the perfect base for exploring sidmouth and the surrounding area. We really appreciate the effort the owners have made to make York Cottage so homely and comfortable. We hope to return - thank you Phil, Kathryn, james and Matthew Lamb - Gateshead

Short Breaks are available from the end of October half term to the start of the Easter school holidays, or at the owners' discretion for a last minute booking at other times of the year. Unfortunately it would be most unusual for us to be in a position to consider a short break at peak holiday times, such as the October and February half terms or over the Christmas, New Year and Easter breaks.
