Chapel Cottage is the ultimate chocolate box thatched cottage, with heaps of character, nestling in its own secluded grounds in the beautiful rural farming hamlet of Harcombe. Part of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Harcombe lies less than three miles inland from Sidmouth and just 1.5 miles to Sidford, with local butcher, Spar and the renowned Blue Ball Inn. Built in 1640 and originally the site of the local chapel, Chapel Cottage has been owned by the same family for generations, once forming part of the Sand Estate in Sidbury, home to the Huyshe family for over 500 years.
The cottage would suit anyone wanting a quiet relaxing, "get away from it all" holiday. With its inglenook fireplace for cosy winter fires, large garden for al fresco summer meals, masses of daffodils and primroses in the spring and spectacular views of countryside which glows gold in the autumn, Chapel Cottage is welcoming whichever season you choose for your visit.
