The owners have extensively refurbished Gannet in 2010 to make All Year Breaks warm and comfortable, including Central Heating, a new designer kitchen and bathroom all with double glazed windows.
Gannet Chalet occupies a unique position as the last East Beach chalet. With its own private grassed area, it offers a degree of privacy for barbequing and sun bathing with uninterrupted views of the beach towards Beer Head. The East Beach chalets do not allow car access and offer the perfect escape from car noise and city traffic. Guests carry luggage across the beach or arrange a tractor ride for an additional charge. We feel the peace and quiet is well worth the extra effort but it's something to bear in mind if you have very small children. Additionally at Gannet there is a large table and bench to enjoy breakfast and supper outside with uninterrupted views and tranquil evenings.
Accommodation: The chalet has a veranda and teak lounging chairs for the private grassy area and picnic table to the side of the chalet.  The kitchen, installed in 2010,  has a gas cooker with separate  hob,  built-in microwave and fridge.  Living room has book lined shelving/Sony TV and fitted grey wool seating units. Two bedrooms - one with a double bed, the other with twin beds. All bedding and bed linen is included, beds will be made up on arrival. The owners have left books and games for guests to use and local guides to the best walks, pubs, restaurants and Farmers Markets in the area.  Within walking distance of Gannet is award winning Masons Arms.  There is a  laundry near the car park.  Bathroom with integral bath/shower, instant hot water, heated towel rail, hand basin and WC.  Parking is available for up to two cars (free of charge) on the beach car park. A small dog accepted charged at £25 per week. No smoking. Fri/Fri changeover. Long/Short breaks available October to April, excluding holiday periods.

Firstly thanks for letting us book Gannet again this year and for taking our booking so early.  Yet again we had a magical time and added to our happy memories, and all the work you have done to Gannet added to our enjoyment of the holiday. 

"You have done a lot!  I must admit when I found Gannet had central heating I was a little saddened as I sort of liked the simplicity of the electric heaters (I was the only one who felt like that), but within 1 day I was totally sold on it, it was warm within 10 minutes of putting the boiler on!  The new bathroom layout is great, and the re-varnishing of the floor and all the white tiling has also added to a very smart feel, it is great to be able to have a full stand up shower.  It all worked really well.  All the bookcases gave us room to put out our stuff which previously had just stayed in boxes on the floor or on the wooden table, and the mirror really lifted the main area, giving the feeling of more light and space.  It goes without saying that the kids loved the new TV, while both Sarah and myself loved new kitchen - the oven and hob were both great (allowing us to widen our menu plans!), and the end to end work surface really smartened up that area and gave slightly more space which waas really great.  Even the folding doors seamed to glide open with ease. When you combine all that with the new windows it was very well setup and snug - a real treat.  To us it felt familiar and yet totally upgraded, we love what you have done".

Short Breaks are available from the end of September up to the final May bank holiday, or at the owners' discretion for a last minute booking at other times of the year. Unfortunately it would be most unusual for us to be in a position to consider a short break at peak holiday times, such as the October and February half terms or over the Christmas and New Year periods.
