Self catering holiday cottages in Beer
Area Information
Find self catering holiday accommodation or enjoy a short break in the quaint, historic village of Beer. From the Jubilee Gardens, set high on the cliffs, stunning views can be enjoyed across the bay and the sheltered pebble beach is an idyllic location from which to watch the local fishermen landing their catch or the sailing club's flotilla of colourful yachts. You can take to the water yourself for an angling trip or a sight seeing tour of the amazing Jurassic coastline, designated a World Heritage Site, or hire a boat for your own pleasure.
A pretty stream runs alongside the main street through the town with its many fascinating shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants. Plenty of amusement can be had browsing the antiquities and artists' work on display.
An exhilerating cliff top walk can take you to nearby Seaton with more shops, gardens and beach. A visit to the fascinating Quarry Caves, a complex of underground caverns, which must have made a wonderful hiding place for contraband stored by the infamous Beer smuggler, Jack Rattenbury, is a must. For all the family, Pecorama with its numerous model railway exhibits and spectacular gardens has to be a star attraction and here you can enjoy a memorable ride on the miniature railway giving some of the most stunning views across the bay.
Unspoilt by commercialism, steeped in history and full of charm and character, Beer is an ideal location to take a step back in time, unwind and forget your troubles.
